You simply cannot visit Lapland without seeing the huskies! These cute Arctic dogs love running around pulling a sleigh, and you are in for a ride of your life when you go on a husky safari! The husky activities to choose from are listed below.
Snowmobile Safari to Huskyfarm 14:15-16:30 (Mondays)
This tour takes you to a husky farm, where, on arrival, you will receive mushing instructions before allowing a team of dogs to take you on a sleigh ride (approx. 4km). After meeting the other dogs in the kennels and hearing tales of these loyal friends, you will get a warm drink and buns before returning to Luosto. Car transport to location is also available on request.
At Home With The Huskies and Reindeer 13:45-16:30 (Wednesdays)
An excellent opportunity to visit the homes of the cuddly huskies and friendly reindeer. At the reindeer farm you will have a relaxed ride in a reindeer pulled sleigh, learn about the animals and the life of a reindeer herder and have a chance to feed the reindeer. At the kennels, you will be given basic instructions on how to drive a dog sled. It is then time to enjoy a 1km ride driving the husky sled or just enjoying the ride as a passenger. You will then be shown around the kennels, be introduced to the dogs, learn about the different types of huskies and of course have an opportunity to meet the dogs and their cuddly puppies. Return transport between Luosto and the husky farm is included in the price. At location you will enjoy complimentary coffee and pastries.Transport options are by snowmobile or by car.
