Monday - Snowmobile Driving School - 2 hours

An introduction to snowmobile driving, you will receive instruction on the operation and safety aspects of the vehicles and driving before embarking on a leisurely paced drive through the forest. This trip is designed to allow you to become comfortable and confident with the operation of a snowmobile whilst still being a fun and exciting excursion. We highly recommend everyone participating in a snowmobile excursion throughout the week joins this excursion first as it will greatly enhance your enjoyment for future excursions/safaris however it is not compulsory. Saturday - Snowmobile to Suvanto Village - 4 hours Tour Code: SNP2.
Price: Adult £148, 13+ Accompanying Passenger £115, Child £75.
An interesting excursion taking you along a frozen river to Suvanto Village. This is a unique heritage protected village, being the only one in the area still standing at the end of World War Two and having been altered only very slightly since. You will enjoy a tasty lunch in the village tea rooms where you can learn about its history and significance before having the opportunity to walk around this picturesque location. Your return to Luosto will be through the forest making a round trip of approximately 50 kms. Back to top
Monday - Snowmobile to Reindeer Farm - 3 hours Tour Code: SNP3.
Price: Adult £110, 13+ Accompanying Passenger £82, Child £70.
This safari gives you the opportunity to sample two local forms of transport; the snowmobile and the reindeer sled. You will drive your snowmobile to a local reindeer farm where you will then drive your own reindeer sleigh. Whilst there you will see reindeer and learn about the way in which these gentle animals are an essential part of Lappish life as you warm up by the fire with a hot drink and pastry before returning to Luosto. Tuesday - Panorama Snowmobile Tour - 4 hours

Driving across the Luosto Fells your first stop will be the Lampivaara Amethyst Mine. Here you will be treated to an interesting presentation and tour of the mine including the opportunity to dig out your own lucky gem. On leaving the mine we proceed to drive to a traditional Lappish Kota where lunch will be served before returning to Luosto. Driving distance varies each week according to weather conditions.Back to top
Wednesday - Snowmobile to Husky Farm - 2-3 hours
Tour Code: SNP5. Price: Adult £110, 13+ Accompanying Passenger £90, Child £74.
This safari takes you to a husky farm, where, on arrival, you will receive mushing instructions before allowing a team of dogs to take you on a short sleigh ride (1km). After meeting the other dogs in the kennels and hearing tales of these loyal friends you will have a warm drink and buns before returning to Luosto. Driving distance varies each week, depending on weather conditions.

Thursday - Snowmobile to Northern Lights - 5 hours

This evening excursion takes you on a challenging snowmobile drive through the varying landscapes surrounding Luosto to the 'Northern Lights Tepee' for a presentation & slide show (usually presented by a professor from the local tri nations research centre). You'll be enthralled by the presentation explaining the fascinating phenomena of the Northern lights, as magnificent photographs are projected onto the ceiling above. Who knows if you're lucky you may even see the real Northern lights. Driving distance approximately 64kms. Please note: northern Lights cannot be guaranteed as they are a natural phenomena.Back to top
Friday - Snowmobile to the Fell Pyhätunturi

Driving through the snowy forest to the fell Pyhätunturi. Lunch will be served in magnificent fell scenery. During the day you will drive around the Pyhä - Luosto fell area. A round trip is approximately 100km. Back to top

- Tours are based on one person per snowmobile. On some safaris a passenger may be carried, where this is suitable a price for passengers has been noted.
- The time shown is an average, the actual length of time will vary due to group size, ability, weather, snow conditions etc
