Skiing and Snowboarding

Skiing
Beginners:
First time skiers will be spoilt in Luosto, the deep soft snow, gentle runs, friendly and caring instructors who speak excellent English, small classes and low prices are the perfect combination to make your introduction to skiing easy and fun. Very importantly though, when you are tired or if you discover skiing is not for you there are many other wonderful and unique winter activities to try. A far greater range than you are likely to find in other locations.

Intermediates: Those wishing to progress from snowploughs or to practice and perfect their parallel turns will also appreciate the relaxed atmosphere of skiing in Luosto.

Advanced: We do have a rather demanding black run in Luosto to warm up the advanced skier (not usually open before 11th February), however after a few days you may find that you would enjoy the more challenging runs found in Pyhä, reached easily in 20 minutes by ski bus (Pyhä lift passes can be purchased locally for approximately €35 per day). Or, perhaps you would like to take this opportunity to try snowboarding or the many other activities on offer.

Snowboarding: Again, beginner snowboarders will be delighted with the easy pace of learning in Luosto. Once progressed, or for intermediate snowboarders, there is a dedicated street with natural pipe, several jumps and slide bars towards the base of the slopes.
